Tavistock Athletic Club is now taking entries for their popular event, The Tavy 7 which takes place on November 14.
Set on the edge of Dartmoor, The Tavy 7 is run on moorland roads from Whitchurch Down, past Pew Tor to Sampford Spiney and back - a breathtaking 7 miles . . . in more ways than one!
This year the club welcomes back estate agents Mansbridge & Balment as its main sponsor. They also have the support of local solicitor Hollinshead & Co and sports clothing and shoe company Brooks, who will be supplying, amongst other things, the main memento for participants in the main race - a Brooks ?technical? t-shirt.
The Tavy 7 has been selected to incorporate the Ross Shield ? a Devon AA trophy which has been around for over 80 years. All members of Devon AA affiliated clubs are automatically entered and there are a series of trophies on offer, over and above those awarded for the Tavy 7 itself.
For the juniors, or those who don?t feel they can quite handle the 7 miler, there also a fun run
The club expects to reach the race limit so don?t leave it to chance. You can obtain an entry form from the club?s website http://www.tavistockathletics.com">www.tavistockathletics.com. Or ring race director Mike Youlden on 01822 833127. Entries for the fun run are only taken on the day ? just turn up and enter.
