WITH summer not far off, golfers are beginning to dream of sunny days and birdies and pars a-plenty. For those in the Okehampton area, it will soon be time for the popular annual Okehampton Rotary Club charity golf days at Ashbury Golf Club. Golfers of all standards can take part in the open days which take place on Wednesday, May 31 and Wednesday, July 19. Ian Bailey, president of Okehampton Rotary Club, said application forms were available now: ?These days are very popular and I urge anyone who is interested to get in contact soon to avoid disappointment. ?We are lucky to have our tee times extended to accommodate everyone.? The cost for a four-ball team is £90, which includes bacon and bap, plus coffee on arrival, buggies and a meal afterwards. Mr Bailey said the prize holes had been extended, giving more chances to win prizes either as a team or individually. All the money raised by the Rotary Club will stay in the locality and be spent mainly on youth and sport development. The Rotary Club is grateful to the Manor House Hotel for its continued support and donation of Ashbury Golf Club facilities for these days.
