I WOULD like to add my support to the comments of George Mudge and D D Hunter in your June 27 issue — and to those of Paul Mercer, Hugh Williams and Terence Scarborough the previous week.
When I volunteered for the RAF in 1941 it was to help defeat the scourge of Hitler and his Nazis on the Continent; and that accomplished successfully, in 1975, when Ted Heath took us into Europe, I thought — as we all did — that we were to join an Economic Community, definitely not a dictatorship from Brussels, as the EU has become.
The 'one size fits all' rule clearly fails to meet the needs of several of the member-states and it certainly fails to meet our requirements.
What hope has our Prime Minister of changing this, acceptable as it seems to be to so many of the other members. For goodness' sake, let's get out, while there's still a little time.
