THE summer bus timetable ?West Devon Bus Times? published by Devon County Council will be available next week. The booklet provides residents with comprehensive information regarding the different bus operators serving the area, many of which are under contract to the county council. Rail and National Express coach services are also included. Services featured in the guide, to be published this Sunday, include those in the Tavistock, Okehampton, Hatherleigh, Princetown and West Dartmoor areas. Important changes to bus services between Tavistock and Plymouth will see direct buses running via Whitchurch again and a revised route for all Tavistock buses within Plymouth. The famous ?Transmoor Link? across Dartmoor runs every Saturday and Sunday with double decker buses offering panoramic views on the route between Plymouth, Yelverton, Princetown, Postbridge, Moretonhampstead and Exeter. A daily service will operate in the summer school holidays. Popular Dartmoor Sunday services 118, 172, 174, 179 and 187 are also featured. From July 25 to September 3, service 172 will also include a Monday to Saturday service between Tavistock, Widecombe and Newton Abbot. The popular Dartmoor Sunday Rover Summer services start again from May 29. This year?s network includes more services offering a wider choice of places to visit, with direct links to many parts of Dartmoor including Widecombe-in-the-Moor, Dartmeet and Postbridge. Tickets can be bought on more buses, so most people can take advantage of the all-in prices from their nearest bus stop. Unlimited travel on the network costs £5 for adults, £4 for children and a family ticket for two adults and up to three children is £12. The service runs every Sunday from May 29 to September 18 and on Bank Holiday Mondays, though there are no Dartmoor Line trains, and tickets are not valid on Tamar Valley line trains on those days. The guide has been distributed directly to a number of outlets in the West Devon area, including libraries, post offices and tourist information centres.
