PEOPLE are being invited to make history at the Museum of Dartmoor Life by helping to construct a mosaic panel. At the mosaic workshop, people will use pieces of glass, custom made by a company in Exeter, to create one of four mosaic patterns which will eventually stand in the museum?s courtyard. Curator Maurie Webber said: ?They are going to be making history.? The panels were designed by Okehampton College students and the workshop is a free community event. People can join in for as long as they like from 10am onwards on Saturday, September 29. On the same day the museum will also be running a rag rug workshop. Artist and rug maker Petra Turner will be teaching her craft, using hessian, felt and ring pull hooks. The rag rug workshop will run from 11am to 4pm and costs £20 per person. Places can be booked by calling the museum on 01837 52295.
