GET Changed Theatre Company are planning a unique online art auction in October to raise funds for the group.

The charity was founded in 1995 and is the only theatre company in Devon for adults with learning disabilities and mental health problems.

They run a continuous programme of drama and education projects, leading to performances in the wider community.

The auction has more than 100 items listed so far, with each piece donated by a local artist. The auction will take place on the website specially set up by Get Changed, with art enthusiasts able to make bids online before the closing time of 4.30pm on Saturday October 29.

On this final day of the auction there will be a special auction event held at the Church House in South Tawton between 9.30am and 4.30pm. It will give bidders an opportunity to see the exhibited artwork, which includes filigree handmade glass by Val Hampson, and painted abstract work by Patricia Lomax. Visitors will be able to make bids in person at the exhibition.

There will also be live music, lunches and refreshments, as well as one final chance to bid.

The auction is just one part of the organisation's fundraising efforts. Get Changed held a coffee morning on August 6 to raise money for the group, reaching a grand total of £342.31.
