DELAYED by a car accident on the way to church, the bridegroom just made it in time for the ceremony when Connie Hine and George Davis were married at St Michael?s Church, Chagford, on October 26.

The bride, an ex-pupil of Okehampton College, is the daughter of Jim Hine and Mrs Eileen Lamacraft, of Chagford, and is a nursery nurse.

The bridegroom is the son of ?Geordie? Davis, of Sunderland, from where his family travelled.

He is chef at the Easton Court Hotel, Chagford. The couple first met at a pub on Dartmoor.

The bride wore a full-length lilac dress with a train and was attended by her friend Rowan Arrowsmith-Brown, the bridegroom?s sister Stella Davis and cousin Shauna Davis, and the bride?s niece Chelsea Hine.

There was a reception at Fingle Glen Golf Club, Exeter, where there was a three-tiered cake made by a family friend.

The couple honeymooned in Jersey.

They will be living in Moretonhampstead.
