A MAJOR West Devon attraction takes the starring role in a special edition of the popular BBC TV programme Gardeners' World tomorrow (Friday).

Presenters Alan Titchmarsh and Rachel de Thame present the programme from the Garden House at Buckland Monachorum, in a show which follows the seasons through spring blossoms to glowing autumn colours.

Garden manager Keith Wiley gives an insight into the revolutionary gardening style known as 'new naturalism'.

Alan Titchmarsh said: 'We decided to film an entire episode on the Garden House and we don't often dedicate the whole programme to one place like this.

'Keith has created one of the most inspiring, innovative and adventurous gardens in Britain and we wanted to share this beautiful place with as many people as possible.'

In the 'new naturalism' style, Keith has created an interlinked series of garden experiences where more than 6,000 varieties thrive much as they would in the wild.

Keith, who has just returned from a high-profile lecture at America's prestigious North Him Symposium international horticultural conference, said: 'It's a real honour to have an entire Gardeners' World just about The Garden House.

'It underlines just what a national and international reputation for excellence we now have.'

Keith said the programme was a 'wonderful opportunity' to get people excited about taking inspiration for their gardens from the world around them.
