HURDWICK Golf Club held their 'Hurdwick Hundred' Golf competition on June 22/23 — a competition in three parts, with two separate medals and an overall winner over the two days.
On day one, Tim Gale led division one with a net 65, followed by Tim Hawkins with 66 and Adam Bridgewater in third with 67.
Division two leader was Roger Downing with 73, in second Ray Truscott, also with 73, and Paul Gunn third with 74.
The ladies' winner was Sally Arscott with 69, second Val Raine with 70 and third Alena Wardle with 73.
Adam Bridgewater, Val Raine and Rob Holter won the 'twos' sweep.
On day two, Rob Holter headed division one with a net 67, followed by Peter Brookbank, also with 67, and Tim Gale with another top three finish, with 68.
Division two leaders were first Chris Wardle with an excellent 64, second Paul Gunn 73 and third Graham Raikes 77.
The Wardles had a great day with Alena winning the ladies' competition with 68, Sally Arscott in second with 72 and Ann Martyn in third place with 76.
The twos sweep was won by Graham Raikes, Rob Holter and Bill O'Callaghan.
The men's winner over the two days was Adam Bridgewater, who won the engraved decanter, and Alena Wardle was the ladies' winner and was presented with the rosebowl.
The event was followed by a barbecue.
The monthly midweek stableford was won by Rob Holter with 38 points, Ray Hurle was second with 37 and Derek Blackmore third with 35.
The twos sweep was won by Ray Hurle.
In the annual mixed competition, the winners were a team made up by Audrey Pugh, Peter Brookbank and Ray Truscott.
