Tamar Valley Male Voice Choir will hold its annual gala concert in Tavistock Methodist Church on May 22.

This will be the third successive year in which the concert has been held in the town. In 2009 a large audience came along to hear the choir perform with the Jerabinka Children's Choir from the Czech Republic in the parish church.

This year the guest artists are Tavistock's own Rosemary Turner and fellow soprano Maggie Holden, who are well known in Devon and Cornwall. They will sing solo and together, presenting pieces ranging from classical to popular.

The 'Wag from Widecombe', alias Tony Beard, will be compering the event and sharing stories about life on Dartmoor.

TVMVC use the gala concert to introduce new music to their audience as well as present pieces which reflect the growing range of their repertoire. The concert starts at 7.30pm and finishes at 10pm. For more information contact 01822 613652.
