THE fantastic sum of £500 was handed to Tavistock Young Carers recently, at a special open day hosted by a town business.

Sandra Callaghan of April Cottage B&B held the open day, which included a coffee morning, light lunches, a raffle, bric-a-brac stall and bottle table.

The event was also supported by the ladies of Tavistock Slimming World's 10am class.

Funds have also been raised during the last six months, with raffles and auctions.

Sandra Callaghan would like to say a big 'thank you' to Christine Mitchell, Slimming World and everyone who has supported the fundraising drive for the young carers, and to Tavy Signs for organising the charity cheque.
