GROUPS and charities working with carers in Devon are invited to apply for funding from the Co-operative.

The new pot of money is being offered by the Co-operative's membership team in the local area to provide tangible support for carers during a year-long fundraising drive for Carers Trust.

The Co-operative is offering the funds to provide a day out or an activity for carers and those they look after. There are two rounds in the application process in order to provide support throughout the year.

Zoe Bartlett-Casey, membership officer for the Co-operative and organiser of the funding scheme, said: 'We are keen to make a difference right away. Groups involved with carers can apply for up to £400 to fund days out or activities for carers and those they care for if appropriate.'
