A VILLAGE fete and fun day will be held for the first time in Lifton in August, hosting a day of events to raise funds to build a village community centre.

Lifton Fete will include stalls and games, tug o' war challenge, village stocks, a bouncy castle, bar, barbecue and much more.

The fete will be followed by a barn dance and a hog roast, dancing to Home Brew with a bucking bronco competition.

The fete and fun day will be held on Saturday August 14, from 2pm onwards. On the Sunday, there will be a novelty dog show starting at 2pm.

The event will raise money for Lifton Community Centre, which aims to be built in 2012.
