PUPILS from Lifton Primary School recently took part in an activity week with an environmental theme. Children from each year took part in the week, spending one day exploring Roadford Lake and learning about the environment. At the school on Friday, July 14 there was an open day with activities including children cooking with fresh ingredients, making masks and instruments out of materials, developing a dance routine, and making costumes. At the end of the day each child dressed up for a parade around the school for parents and visitors to watch. The younger children led the parade, playing the instruments they had made, followed by dancers, and then children dressed as insects in costumes made that day. l The report on July 13 of the opening ceremony of Lifton School?s new library and ICT facilities stated that it was carried out by the youngest pupil and Mrs Nacncy Keast, the oldest former pupil in the village ? this should have read, one of the oldest former pupils in the village.
