A FAMILY fun day and dog show is being held at Walkhampton this Saturday, August 28, to raise funds for the community play park.

The fun day is being run in conjunction with the Cottage Garden Society annual show and includes a fun run, setting off at 2pm, as well as a charity cricket match.

The day will include entertainment and amusements for the whole family, including numerous stalls with games, crafts, bric-a-brac and competitions. There will even be a bouncy obstacle trail to complete!

Walkhampton Play Park has a bike track and basketball court built with a grant won by two local boys, and a play area for young children which opened this Easter. Planning permission has recently been obtained to construct a park for older children and organisers hope funds raised at Saturday?s fun day will be enough to see completion of the play area.
