A CYCLE ride to raise awareness of National Transplant Week sets off from Okehampton this Sunday, July 18.
Wendy Sincock, of Spreyton, a transplantee herself, has organised the leisurely ride along the Granite Way cycle route, which will start from Okehampton Station at 11am.
Wendy says anyone who wants to be part of the fun cycle ride is welcome to turn up on the day.
National Transplant Week runs from July 18 to 22 and aims to give the public more information about the importance of organ donation.
Wendy will be among the Exeter Heart and Kidney Transplant team competing at the British Transplant Games which take place in Norwich later this month.
Around 1,500 athletes from across Great Britain will be taking part in various sports at the Games.
Wendy will be mainly concentrating on events in the swimming pool this year. She is due to compete in the 50 metres backstroke, 50 metres freestyle, 100 metres freestyle and is a member of the 50 metre relay team. In track and field disciplines, she will be also compete in the shotput.
