A WEEK-long programme of events for the annual Winkleigh Fair culminated in a wide range of open-air activities on a well-attended fair day (Saturday, July 19).
The day began with a kite making workshop for children aged five and over, held in the community centre.
Winkleigh Fair committee member Julie Mitchell said around 50 children took part in the kite making workshop, with many of their colourful creations being paraded through the square later in the day.
Other highlights during the day were a naval gun run competition, round the village races, fancy dress, belly dancing and a dog and duck demonstration.
Music was provided by Hatherleigh Silver Band, Torrington Town Band and the evening was rounded off with dancing to ?The Split Personality?.
A family film night in the village hall, held on Thursday night (July 17) was a sell-out success, when families were given the first chance to see ?Treasure Planet? - the new Disney cartoon based on Treasure Island.
