Macmillan Cancer Support is Fulfords estate agents' charity of the year for 2011, the charity's centenary year.

Various fundraising events have already taken place, including a collection at Fulfords annual awards dinner in February, a coffee morning/bring and buy sale, a car boot sale and 'shaking green Macmillan buckets' at a local football derby match.?But Fulfords' regional director Jason Hooper, donned his cycling shorts and yellow jersey to take part in an organised London to Paris Cycle Challenge to do his bit in raising money for Macmillan.

Along with 53 other cyclists, all raising money for various charities, Jason (pictured left) covered more than 300 kilometres in just three days with friends and family waiting to greet him on the finish line at the base of the Eiffel Tower.

Jason said: 'As a company, Fulfords took the decision some time ago to support Macmillan this year and I was really pleased to do something personally to raise money for this very worthwhile charity who do so much to support cancer sufferers, their friends and families. The challenge was something I will always remember and I am pleased that I took the opportunity to participate.

'I would like to thank Fulfords customers and staff who kindly sponsored me — just under £1,000 was raised.'

Fulfords' next event in support of Macmillan takes place tomorrow (Friday) when its branches will be taking part in Macmillan's 'World's Biggest Coffee Morning'.?Other fundraising events are planned during the year.
