PLYMOUTH and West Devon 'Talking Newspaper for the Blind', a Tavistock-based charity, held a successful flag day street collection in Tavistock on May 19 and 20. Fortunately, the weather was fine and there were plenty of generous townspeople and visitors out and about.

A total of £1,365 was collected, which, added to donations of £745 from our many listeners, makes a splendid total of £2,100.

Through the Times, we would like once again to thank the kind people of Tavistock and everyone involved in the collection, for their generous response.

I WOULD like to thank the services of Local Businesses at this years Son-Rise Cup Festival.

We had a super weekend of football fun and the event ran like clockwork.

A special thank you to BIFFA for their helpful and professional driver who delivered clean containers and cleared away our litter from the Crowndale pitches.

Also a big thank you to Tavistock Hire Centre for supplying excellent equipment such as generators , boilers and toilets.

Without people such as these helping events like the Son-Rise Cup could not take place.

WE would like to say a very large thank you to all the local businesses for their donations towards Oxfam Bookfest, July 2 to 16.

So many people contributed that we were quite overwhelmed. The generosity and support was much appreciated and the kindness will be remembered.

WE collected for Asthma UK outside the Co-op in Tavistock on June 9 and 10. We want to thank all who made a donation to this worthwhile cause. Thanks to their generosity we collected £189.31, in spite of the bad weather.

Our grateful thanks also to Barbara Worth for her kind co-operation.
