Classical singer Nadrah was judged the winner of a talent competition at Jethro's Coach House in Lewdown on Friday night.
The teenager, who started singing lessons four years ago because her relatives thought she had a nice voice, was chosen from contestants all over Devon and Cornwall.
Around 40 hopefuls auditioned for the competition — a one off event before the venue closes in June — and only eight made it to the final.
Solo singers, bands, a comedian and an Elvis impersonator all took to the stage in an attempt to win the competition cup and £500 prize money.
Nadrah had to make a dash from Hatherleigh where she had just appeared as Princess Saw Wen in the pantomime 'Aladdin' to take part in the competition.
'I was on at the end but I managed to see three acts before it was my turn and they were all really good,' she said.
'It was such a shock to win and it's not really sunk in yet.'
Nadrah was 12 when she first performed in a talent show for her year at school. She has since sung in front of the whole school as a solo singer and in the senior choir.
She has competed at the Exeter and North Devon festivals but says this latest achievement is by far her best.
Sarah Barriball, who organised the event, said all the judges felt Nadrah had an outstanding voice.
She sang 'Ava Maria' and a piece from the opera 'Marriage of Figaro'
'It was quite nerve-racking because I could see the judges sitting at the tables discussing things as I was singing,' said Nadrah.
The win is another step towards the teenager achieving her ambition of becoming a professional singer
She lists classical singer and star of musicals Sarah Brightman as one of her favourite artistes together with Lesley Garrett and Maria Callas.
'I sing the same sort of thing as Charlotte Church but my voice is not the same at all,' said Nadrah, who also enjoys singing songs from the musicals.
She will perform alongside professional artistes at a special cabaret show at Jethro's in May and plans to appear at Exeter Festival this weekend.
Nadrah's main aim however at the moment is to get through her GCSE exams in the summer.
