OKEHAMPTON Medical Centre has a new ?Friends of the Practice Group?. This will be a link between all who use the centre and its staff, giving the opportunity for a two-way exchange of ideas and information.
Comments and good ideas for improving how the surgery is run can now be posted in the suggestions box inside the front entrance, and the friends group will pass them on. (For instance, is the new phone system easy to use?).
We hope to produce a newsletter to provide feedback on comments and keep everyone up to date with what is happening at the medical centre.
The group will also be a link between the practice and other organisations, and has already helped to raise £2,100 for new equipment needed by the surgery once the hospital moves to its new site.

MAY I, through your columns, thank those local organisations who contributed towards the defibrillator fund for the medical centre, namely the Round Table, Lions, Rotary, Okehampton Show Committee and the Okehampton Art Group.
It was a magnificent effort for a very worthwhile cause.
