Duchy Premier Dobwalls 2 Gunnislake 2 ALREADY without the holidaying Stuart Wakenshaw Gunnislake lost Gary Smith in the opening minute through a hamstring injury. Despite this the visitors started brightly before Dobwalls scored on 15 minutes through a well taken lob by Colin Barrett. With the slope in their favour the hosts had the better of the first half. This often long ball approach kept Gunnislake on the defensive but the visitors did this well and for all the Dobwalls pressure Gunnislake keeper Andy Brenton was rarely called in to action. Gunnislake had the better for much of the second half. Dobwalls were always a threat on the counter attack but it was the visitors who were having the majority of shots at goal. Many went either wide or high until Jerry Kelly neatly turned in a Nathan Dore centre on 80 minutes. Within a minute the hosts had regained their lead. Ryan Thorogood saw his initial effort brilliantly saved by Brenton but the attacker gleefully tucked away the loose ball. Gunnislake were not to be denied the point they deserved and levelled on 85 minutes. Kelly provided for Dore to score as these young strikers again combined well. Both sides went for the winner in a frenetic finale but a point apiece was a fair result. Duchy division 5 Tintagel 6 Gunnislake Reserves 1 ALL that separated these sides in the opening 45 minutes was their finishing. Gunnislake?s was poor with Tintagel?s being the opposite as the hosts established a four nil lead. The pattern continued in the second period as Tintagel, with one player running riot and scoring four, went six nil up before Adam Brimmacombe scored Gunnislake?s consolation. This Saturday sees the Premier side play their most local of a number of Derbies. Lamerton visit for a 2.30 kick off. The reserves visit Biscovey, also a 2.30 kick off.
