THE children?s charity CHICKS is better off thanks to the generosity of supporters of the Freemasons. CHICKS ? Country Holidays for Inner City Kids ? was presented with a cheque for £800 by the Rev Louis Baycock, assistant provincial grand master for Devosnhire. The money was raised through the collection taken at the Freemasons? annual carol service at St Andrew?s Church, Plymouth. It will go towards the appeal for CHICKS? new moorland retreat at Brentor. CHICKS general manager David Wynn Jones said: ?Our new centre, which we have just moved into, is absolutely perfect for us. ?It will provide children who desperately need it with a really fantastic centre to come for a much-needed break. ?Our appeal for the centre is ongoing and the support we have received from the Freemasons of Devon is much appreciated. ?With the new centre, CHICKS is able to help many more disadvantaged children escape their circumstances and receive the lifeline of a free break away from it all.?
