WEST Devon schoolchildren are this week being reminded that they can call ChildLine for help and support about any problem. More than 520 primary and secondary schools in Devon have received new posters to help remind pupils that the ChildLine service is there for them whatever their worry, big or small. The posters — featuring the message: 'However you feel, ChildLine is here for you', and containing contact information for the service — arrived at primary and secondary schools this week. Denise Robertson, ChildLine assistant director for the South West, said: 'We're asking schools to display these posters to remind every child and young person that there is someone to turn to for confidential advice and support. 'We realise that every young person is different; some may choose to visit our website to find help about a wide range of issues, whereas others may prefer to speak to one of our trained volunteer counsellors over the phone by calling 0800 1111. The important thing is that we're here for every child and young person 24 hours a day.' The ChildLine website at childline.org.uk has been relaunched as a site solely for young people. It provides more advice about typical problems children worry about and information on what would happen if they get in touch with ChildLine. Young people will also be able to view a new guide called Beat the Exam Stress, which provides hints and tips about dealing with revision and exams.
