FARMERS and agricultural businesses are being invited to a free seminar on pre-year end tax saving measures.

The event is being hosted by Simpkins Edwards Chartered Accountants and takes place at 7pm on Tuesday, March 1 at the White Hart in Okehampton.

Mary Jane Campbell, partner at Simpkins Edwards and head of its agricultural and rural business team, will be giving advice to farmers looking to increase their tax efficiencies and manage their year-end accounts. As well as her accountancy expertise, Mary Jane has many years' practical experience, having run her own farming business in Devon.

The event will also feature a guide to Total Integration — a farm management software package from Sum-It Computer Systems that enables all farm records to be administered in one location.

The session will be followed by light refreshments and there will be plenty of opportunity to ask questions throughout.
