THE Museum of Dartmoor Life in Okehampton is opening its doors and inviting residents with an EX20 postcode to visit the museum free of charge. The gesture is intended as a thank you for support given during the recent refurbishment of the charming museum. The offer runs from Tuesday, February 8 until Friday, March 18. The usual opening hours are Monday to Friday, 10.15am to 4pm, but visitors are advised to telephone 01837 52295 to ensure the museum is open on the day they wish to visit. Visitors will be asked to give proof of their address and youngsters under 15 must be accompanied by an adult. The museum is also holding a day for tourism business and local service providers on Tuesday, February 15. The event, held in conjunction with the DTA, is an opportunity for hotel, bed and breakfast and tourist attractions owners in the area to find out more about what the museum has to offer.
