A DAY of free activities and taster sessions has been organised by the Dartmoor National Park Authority, for participants to enjoy some adrenaline pumping summer fun. Highlights of the day, on August 16, include free guided walks and free guided cycle rides using the Tyrwhitt's Tramway route. Bike hire is available on the day from Fox Tor Café or bring your own. Take advantage of the free cycle surgery running throughout the day, or try a taster session on an electric bike. Challenge yourself on a climbing wall and have a go at geocaching — an outdoor treasure hunting game using GPS-enabled devices. For younger visitors there will be Ranger Ralph club activities both outside and in the Visitor Centre at Princetown. Active Summer Day runs from 11am until 4pm and all activities and taster sessions are free. For more information call 01822 890414.
