Plymouth builders Rok are celebrating the start of work on the steel frame for a new £2.5-million Focus DIY store in Tavistock. Rok staff were joined by representatives from Focus, site owners Marchfield Properties Ltd and multi-disciplinary property consultants Ridge ? project managers for the scheme ? to mark the start of the erection of the steel frame that will support the store, on the Plymouth Road Industrial Estate. Work has already taken place to demolish an existing building on the site and prepare the foundations for the new 25,000 sq ft Focus DIY store, which will feature a garden centre and car park. Rok has built new stores in the South West for the national DIY chain, with previous projects at Bodmin and Launceston. Rok?s Plymouth area leader Bruce MacDonald said: ?We have developed an excellent relationship with Focus DIY and are delighted to be once again working with the company on what will be an excellent retail facility for Tavistock and the surrounding area. ?With the foundations complete and work on the steel frame well under way, the new store is really starting to take shape.? Rok?s Plymouth office started work on the project in March and is scheduled to complete the store by the end of the year.
