FUN team games to get in the spirit of Christmas were to the fore at Okehampton Golf Club. The ladies played a fourball better ball but with the air temperature at minus one, it was decided to play a shortened course, so only 16 holes were played. The standard of golf was surprisingly good, considering the conditions, and Penny Deakin and Mary Keir won with 35 points. Second were Marcia Jones and Cherry James who scored 33. Saturday's competition was again fun, with a fourball team with two to count being the order of the day. Again conditions were dry and not as cold as it had been, so a pleasant day was enjoyed by all. Division one was won by Malcolm Hill, Kevin Cornwall, Barry Coaker and Rich Camies scoring 90 points. Second were Mat Mills, Mike Hern, Steve White and Graham Starkey with 88, third were Graham and Matt Milford, Paul Hobbs and John Birch 86. Division two was won by Dave Turner, Alan Hough and Peter and Shirley Stunnell with 91 points. Second were Ian Davie, Adrain Rice and Graham and Steve Browne with 90, and in third place were John Flavin, Neil Penfold, Kevin Harding and RogerSlack with 87.
