THE Moorland Garden Hotel near Yelverton has received a glowing seal of approval from the AA as part of the motoring organisation’s world-renowned hotel inspection and star-rating scheme.
The hotel has been awarded four stars, with the Wildflower Restaurant awarded a rosette.
Purchased in July 2011 by business entrepreneurs Brian and Sonia Meaden, the hotel has undergone an extensive refurbishment process.
Brian Meaden said: ‘Every member of the staff should be proud of these achievements. It’s been an amazing turn around and as you’d imagine, we’re all delighted with the upgrade to a four star rating, recognition from the AA of the high standards that we’ve all been working very hard towards since first taking on the property.
‘To have also achieved a rosette for the Wildflower Restaurant is fantastic news. Only ten percent of restaurants nationwide are judged worthy of one rosette or above and it’s a fabulous accolade to add to the numerous awards that the restaurant has already notched up.’
Andrew Jenkins, general manager, added: ‘This has put the team in a celebratory mood for sure. I’d like to personally thank them, we couldn’t have achieved this without each and every one!’
