A FOUNDER member of Tavistock Inner Wheel has been presented with the Paul Harris Fellow Award by Tavistock Rotary Club which acknowledges and appreciates individuals who have made an outstanding contribution to society.

Ruby Ditcher has worked tirelessly to raise funds for charitable giving throughout her many years with Inner Wheel and was instrumental in ensuring that the Ugandan refugees were clothed and supported during their stay at Plasterdown in the 1970s.

Ruby also set up the Tavistock Church Christmas Bazaar in the town hall to raise money for various needs within the church. She ran the bazaar for many years and it continues to raise around £3,000 annually.
