THREE top Kelly College swimmers have moved on to university, where they are continuing their training ? with one moving on to the triathlon.

Peter Freedman is studying business adminstration at Bath University and has decided to train for the triathlon with some of the national perfomance squad.

?I?ve always run, but never cycled, so have had to start that. It is hard work, but I enjoy it,? Peter said. He trains for 17 hours per week, of which seven to eight are devoted to swimming. He hopes to start competing when the new season starts in March.

Robert Pratt and Sam Calcutt are both at Loughborough University, Robert studying for an art foundation degree and Sam a geography degree.

Both are training intensively with coaches Ian Armiger and Di Bass respectively and are hoping to put in good times before March to qualify for the Nationals, which are held at Loughborough.

?I am finding the training quite intense, but I have just swum in a competition at Loughborough and put in personal best times,? Robert said. He trains every day from 6pm to 8pm and three mornings a week from 5.30am to 7.30am and said one of the hardest things was cooking and looking after himself!
