THE first of a series of pilot 'drop in' advice and coffee morning events at Princetown United Church were held in last week. Two volunteers from Princetown, Dawn Wood and Wendy Stones, were joined by Dawn Mcgarvey and Anne Cole of the Foodbank in Tavistock at the coffee morning, when the hall was open to the elderly and anyone on benefits, low income, or in receipt of free school meals or who are waiting for benefit money to come through. Advice was available and the event provided the opportunity for villagers to donate non perishable items such as sugar, pasta sauces or tinned fish to the foodbank — or simply just to pop in for a free cuppa. Foodbank vouchers are available at the drop in mornings for anyone eligible and food parcels will be offered. Confidentiality will be given at all times. Another three drop- in days are planned for today (Thursday), July 24 and 31, between 10am and noon. For further information call Tavistock Food Bank on 07941 436149.
