THOUGHTS of the future were on the minds of students at Okehampton College last week. On Tuesday January 22, 50 local and national organisations took part in a careers fair at the College. The event aimed to inform students, from year 9 through to year 13, about the possibilities that are available to them once they leave school. The fair gave them an opportunity to talk to exhibitors from a wide variety of professions that included representatives from the MET Office and the Royal Navy. Groups that specialise in careers advice, such as Connexions and Aim Higher, were also present at the fair. Daryll Champan, Okehampton College principal, was pleased with the way the day went. He said: 'This will hopefully answer any questions or queries the students might have about university and working life. 'I would like to thank all of the organisations that came; they made it a real success.' The fair, which was opened by College governor Mel Stride, was not only successful but also well attended.
