TWO well-known Tavistock retailers will be sponsoring this year's first ever food and drink festival in the town.
Household and catering goods suppliers Lawsons and Crebers the delicatessen will be joint sponsors of the event on July 31 and August 1, being organised by Tavistock Business Association.
Association president Mike Hooper said: 'We are absolutely delighted with this sponsorship programme, particularly as Lawsons is currently celebrating its Centenary year.'
More than 60 applications have been received from food and drink producers wishing to exhibit at the festival, a farmers' market will be held on both days, regional cream teas will be served throughout and there will be demonstrations by top chefs like Peter Gorton from the Horn of Plenty.
