North Okes U11s 24 Ivybridge U11s 0 IN a three way tournament at Ivybridge the match started fast and furious with North Okes making their mark early on with a try in the first few minutes from Reece Palmer. Ivybridge came back with a strong run up the wing but were stopped short of the line by Jake Shin. Good line out work for North Okes from George Courtier and Jack Weeks gave Daniel Fogerty clean ball allowing Ollie Francis at fly half to gain good ground  popping out to Connor on the wing who was tackled into touch by Ivybridge just short of the line. Daniel Squires, with some strong running, danced through three Ivybridge players allowing Fogerty in for a try. Jack Davey at fullback received the kick and made ground up the centre followed by some great rucking by the forwards to allow Robbie in for his first try. Soon after, linking up with Fogerty he went over for a second sealing the game. North Okes U11s 7 Topsham U11s 7 TOPSHAM started strongly making North Okes realise the tackles had to go in early on in defence and not allow a much larger side to run at them. Big tackles unfortunately put an end to George Courtiers second game bringing Tom Pengelly into the pack. Jake Shin and Charlie Ogbourne proved useful around the rucks for North Okes as was Charlie White. North Okes played good open rugby in the first half with the backs keeping the ball alive allowing Fogerty in for their only try of the game, which was converted by Reece Palmer. North Okes found themselves defending furiously for a while but managed to keep Topsham to a draw which was a fair result to a very tough and aggressive match. North Okes U11s 45 Sidmouth 5 NORTH Okes came out and played well thrilling the coaches with a fine exhibition of rugby. Luke S threw well at line outs and was part of the front five whose scrummaging was superb. Charlie W was quick to break downs and supported well. George C lead the forwards well and kicked a conversion. Daniel S put in some crunching tackles and scored a try in the second half. The backs played and passed well. Ollie F put in some very solid tackles and kept the team moving forwards. Ben Sharpe was all over the field in the heart of the action and converted his own try. Rhys P scored a try. Daniel F at scrum half had a number of runs which culminated in three tries scored. Tom P converted his own try. Jack W challenged well at the line outs, made some good runs and kicked a conversion. Connor B had strong runs down the wing and was unlucky not to score as was Robbie on the opposite wing. Jake Shin as usual tackled with great heart and had some good runs. The score represents a side that was never on the back foot.
