Carlsberg South Western League Bodmin Town 4 Tavistock 1 FOUR goals to one on paper looks a convincing win for the home side but missed incidents, overruled and incorrect decisions all helped them to gain this flattering victory. The very first came in the fifth minute as the Lambs lost possession in midfield for the ball to be put into the area with Sean Cann chasing back with Ryan Honey and keeper Andy Meeds coming out to collect and all of a sudden the ball was between them for Honey to stab home. There was prolonged protest from Meeds and captain Nigel Pugh that Honey had handled. But both referee and his assistant had missed it and the goal was allowed to stand. The Lambs got back on level terms fair and square on the half hour. Shane Krac?s free kick out on the left was only partially cleared back in his direction for Will Stringer to turn the ball back into midfield 25 yards out from goal where Krac was lurking to send in a low shot that beat Jason Chapman in the Bodmin goal. Appeals for a penalty after Stringer appeared to go sprawling went unheard before the Lambs had a glorious chance to go a goal up right on the stroke of half time. The Lambs opened up the Bodmin defence to leave Steer ghosting into the area unmarked but he took too much time on the ball and it allowed Chapman to come out and close him down to block his shot. Stringer went close for the Lambs before the home side went ahead just after the hour for the second time again in controversial fashion. An assistant five yards away gives a goal kick to the Lambs but Mr Stevens, 30/40 yards away gives a corner and the Lambs allowed Ryan Fice a free header in the goal area to give them the lead. The Lambs then went for broke with a bold triple substitution with Mark Conday, John Hadjiyianni and Chris Menhinick replacing Krac, Steer and Lee Ireland. Conday showed immediately to get a cross in but Stringer was unable to control the ball in front of goal and the ball was cleared. A dubious penalty decision late in the game after Darren Gilbert went down saw, after long deliberations, Honey stroke home to make it 3-1. The home side made it four on the stroke of full time. Appeals for offside were cast aside and rightly so and to cap it all Mike Arscott received his marching orders for comments to an assistant. Carlsberg South Western League Tavistock 4 Torpoint 2 THE Lambs said farewell to 2005 with three points on December 31 but had to wait until the very end with two late goals to secure victory. Shane Krac saw his effort palmed away by Dave Painter in the third minute but the Lambs opened their account five minutes later with Dave Hallet crossing for John Hadjiyianni to head home. The visitors responded in the 21st minute. Fifteen minutes later the Lambs regained the lead with a goal from Morris. The second half was just a minute old when a ball over the top of the Lambs? defence saw Ryan Lucassi latch onto the ball. Andy Meeds made a great block to prevent him from scoring but the ball rebounded to him on the edge of the area where Lee Ireland appeared to trip him for the referee to point to the spot with Southeran making no mistake to draw his side level. There were just four minutes left when sub Glynn Hobbs swung in a corner for captain Nigel Pugh to head powerfully towards goal. Chris Graddon blocked it but there was Mike Arscott on hand to blast it home from close range. On the stroke of full time James Steer side footed home at the far post to secure the points.
