THE OKEHAMPTON district is a very important area for Devon?s butterflies, with species such as the Small Pearl-Bordered Fritillary and the Silver Washed Fritillary.
It will not be long now before the flash of yellow of the Brimstone ? often the first after winter hibernation ? will be spotted.
To find out about all of the county?s wonderful butterflies, come along to a meeting of the U3A Field Studies Group next Wednesday.
Peter Hurst, editor of ?Butterfly Conservation? will be giving a talk with slides at the Ockment Centre, Okehampton, on Wednesday, February 11 from 7.30pm.
