AN exciting new programme of fitness classes will next week be launched at Tavistock Community Sports Centre. The centre at Tavistock College runs a wide range of sessions, five evenings a week, which are open to both members and non-members.
Barry Mountstevens, its manager, said: 'We have gone for a wide scope of classes with different intensity levels so we can offer something for everyone. For our seasoned pros we have our circuits and new strength and conditioning class and for our beginners we have new aerobics and body conditioning classes.'
The new programme includes cycle fit, legs, bums and tums and boxfit on Mondays; body conditioning and strength and conditioning on Tuesdays; core stability, circuits and yoga on Wednesdays, cycle fit and diet and nutrition on Thursdays and Zumba on Fridays. There is also a new Saturday morning aerobics class.
Barry added: 'We are also offer free Health and Fitness Assessments which are a combination of electronic and physical testing. The body stat analyser will evaluate a variety of key aspect like water retention, muscle mass, basal metabolic rate, whilst the physical teat will evaluate strength and endurance.'
As a special offer fitnesses assessments will be free for the first week between October 31 and November 6. Normal charges are £10 for members, £15 for non-members. The classes are £4 each or free to members and are open to all. Next week there is a special 'buy one, get one free' offer for non members.
