DARTMOOR National Park Authority is due in the New Year to consider actions it will take over planning discrepancies over a fish pass on the River Walkham at Huckworthy, Sampford Spiney.

Members of the development management committee are meeting on January 10 at the authorities offices at Bovey Tracey to look at an enforcement report over works on the fish pass, which has been built by energy firm CGP of Newton Abbot. It is part of a hydroelectric scheme by the company which Dartmoor planners had approved, subject to the conditions, including that a pass be installed to facilitate the migration of fish.

Stephen Belli, the director of planning for the authority, said he will be reporting to the committee and 'setting out the circumstances of this case and the discrepancies between the approved planning permission and what has been constructed on site. This will be an enforcement report and members will have a number of options to consider.'

Last week Mr Belli and a representative of the Environment Agency held a site meeting.
