Tavistock Ladies 1st XI 2 Plymouth & Marjons 2ndXI 4 DESPITE Tavistock being the dominant attacking team, the possession of the ball on the stick was weak for Tavistock in this match and this resulted in the opposition stealing the ball and having a run at the keeper. Goalkeeper, Chloe Bassett, came out and took the player on and cleared the ball with determination and power. Unfortunately, the ball was kept in possession to the opposition and they managed to slot in a goal. Tavistock regained their structure. Honey had some excellent runs up the pitch allowing the ball to be crossed into the ?D?. On this occasion after a desperate scramble for the ball and by using the strength of Boulle, White and Barratt, the ball was passed to Armstrong who scored the goal to level at 1-1. Plymouth and Marjons were quick to bounce back which resulted in them being awarded a short corner. Dunn was out quick to the ball and got a touch on it allowing the shot to be much slower. Unfortunately the ball rebounded of another Tavistock stick to go into the goal and left the half-time score 2-1 to Plymouth. Boulle and Stapleton made some good block tackles and fed the ball out wide for Honey and Barratt to chase. Dunn had the ball and fed it to White who crossed it to Honey. Honey took it into the ?D? and had a shot at goal. She picked up the rebound ball to slot to Gaspar who scored. At 2-2, Tavistock started to look the dominant team again as the attacking play was mostly with the home team. Bassett made a couple of more crucial saves. Another short corner was awarded to the opposition and they scored from a strong direct strike. All the Tavistock players were becoming frustrated as they knew that they were the attacking team but the strong passing game of Plymouth could not be broken down early enough allowing them to score their fourth goal of the match.
