Tavistock B 5 United Services 2 TAVISTOCK hockey?s B team were looking for their first win of the season but their chances seemed slim facing third placed United Services. Tavistock started showing no respect for the higher placed team, and it was not long before they took a surprising lead, scored by Tosdevin ? his first goal for the club. Although the visitors had only ten players Tavistock started to play some positive hockey which had been lacking earlier in the season. Mackintosh scored the second goal after receiving a well timed pass from Kelly, who shortly afterwards scored one of two individual goals. As the first half drew to a close, Tavistock were given a short corner, United Services stood still thinking the ball was inside the ?D? when stopped, and Tavistock took advantage of the whistle not being blown and Cowan Jnr scored the fourth goal from the tightest of angles. Soon after the game restarted Kelly scored his second goal. Tavistock always expected United Services to try and get back into the game, with a few nerves starting to show the visitors scored two quick goals. This was too little too late and Tavistock held on to record their first win of the season. This week Tavistock are away and travel to Ashburton.
