OKEHAMPTON celebrated the first royal visit to the town in 30 years yesterday (Wednesday), when Prince Charles arrived to see the new Okehampton Hospital.

The Prince toured the building and saw the unusual Japanese Garden, designed by specialists from Japan and aimed at promoting a healing atmosphere at the hospital.

Prince Charles also watched an acupuncture treatment and spent time talking to staff and patients at the hospital.
