THE first intake of Duchy College students studying on the food studies foundation degree course are graduating this year with exceptional results.
The students began studying at Duchy College on this course and went on to study for a third and final year on the rural business management degree, predominantly concentrating on food technology modules. All have graduated with first class honours.
One of the successful three is Sabrina Doidge, of Gunnislake, who highlighted the courses links with industry.
She said: I concentrated on the food modules of the degree as it allowed me to learn about how business operates and apply principles to the food industry.
I really enjoyed the course as it allowed me to study close to home and use the food processing facilities as well as take advantage of the colleges close contacts with the food industry, with plenty of visits.
I am already using my degree as within two weeks of finishing I got a job as a food specification technologist for a well known local food company.
