THIS is a letter of apology to all the people who helped so enthusiastically with last year's fireshow.

It was a great shame that the show itself had to be postponed due to the weather, but the support of so many people, helping build the stage, helping create the clothes, acting, putting together all the electrics, the sound systems, marshalling the crowds, selling tickets and so on, meant that almost one and a half thousand people could enjoy a (still damp) evening.

As you know, usually the committee organises a party after the show to express our thanks, but this year of course we are suffering the consequences of the foot and mouth outbreak. Sadly, we have been forced to postpone this party until the disease is under control.

However, we will be arranging for a summer party to thank all the helpers once this outbreak is ended.

We hope to be able to invite all the folk involved to show our gratitude for your support, as well as asking for your continued help. Last year was not a success financially, and we hope that this year will be more lucrative.

So again, the committee is very sorry that the usual show for all the people involved has had to be postponed, but we hope you'll understand the reasons.

All we can say it, hopefully, we'll be able to host a slightly warmer party in the summer, and all those who contributed to the show will be invited to it.

Thanks again and see you in the summer.
