STICKLEPATH fireshow are hoping for a sparkling year as they celebrate the 21st anniversary of the popular Guy Fawkes Night show.

Organisers of the village?s spectacular Fireshow are holding their annual thank you party on Saturday, April 3, in the Phoenix Bar at the Kings Arms, South Zeal.

The Sticklepath Fireshow Committee are holding the event to show their appreciation to the many people who helped with last year?s spectacular show.

All the children who were involved in the show are invited to come along at 6.30pm and all adults at 8pm.

Those who come along can relive the excitement and watch the video and slide presentations of last year?s show.

Fiona Hitchcock, secretary of Sticklepath Fireshow, said with this being it?s 21st year, the show was looking to the future with a much wider scope than just the show itself.

She said the objectives of the Fireshow were to ?encourage wide participation in the community? and ?to advance skills and training? in relation to their activities.

?We feel that there are opportunities to build on the success of the last 20 years of hard work by many local people by providing even more chances for people to get involved and fulfil our objectives in exciting new and innovative ways,? Fiona said.

The annual meeting of the Sticklepath Fireshow committee is being held at 7.30pm in the Devonshire Inn, Sticklepath on Monday.

Fiona invited everyone to come along and find out how you can influence the future direction in this celebratory year.

She said the present team had some great ideas, but they were keen to see what talent is out there and how best to use any ideas they may have.
