TWO recycling banks in Tavistock?s Pixon Lane car park were set alight on two successive days.

The Oxfam book bank was set on fire on November 8, resulting in hundreds of books being destroyed. The same charity?s clothing bank was set on fire the following day at around the same time ? 1.30pm. Three youths in school uniform were seen running away from the latter fire.

Tavistock fire crew was called to both incidents and police are investigating,

Tavistock fire crew was also called to a bathroom fire in Plymouth Road on the 7th, where a shower had caught fire, fallen off the wall into the plastic bath and set fire to the bathroom.

They were also called to Warren?s Cross on Dartmoor on November 14, where dumped tyres had been set alight causing an environmental problem.
