STAFF had to be evacuated from a building at the Institute of Grassland Research (IGER) at North Wyke after a fire broke out last week. North Tawton firefighters were called out to a fire in a computer room at the Institute at 9.48am last Tuesday, September 19. A dry powder extinguisher, small tools and a thermal imaging camera were used to put out the fire, and the crew were detained for two hours while they dealt with the blaze.
