FOR the third year running, the Tavistock Summer Solstice Festival will be held at the town's rugby club this June.

The live music and beer festival, sponsored by Microlink PC, will now be held over two days, following the previous years' success.

The event will take place on the evening of Friday, June 12, continuing throughout Saturday, June 13.

The festival starts with the 'acoustic marquee' on the Friday evening, featuring Jo Harris, Phil Perkins, Jules Irvine, Dan Kemish and Rory Gilmore.

This will be followed on Saturday by performances on stage from acts including The Sniffle Brothers, Mississippi MacDonald, Offshore Drift, The Flies, Rock 'n' Roll Outlaws and the Adam Issac band.

Most of the artists performing at the festival regularly play in the local music scene and offer an eclectic mix of genres, from punk to blues.

The beer festival will include a range of west country ales and cider, along with a barbecue with locally sourced produce.

This year the event will be raising money for 'Help for Heroes' with various fun games, stalls and a raffle supported by Fat Face.

Weekend tickets are £15 per person, which are available from Dukes Coffee House.
