THE last weekend of November was another busy weekend for some swimmers from Tavistock Swimming Club, with the Torquay Sprint Meet on Saturday and the Exeter City November Meet on Sunday.

Sixteen swimmers travelled to Torquay and made 21 finals between them and achieved 30 top four finishes.

Kirsty Best and Kathryn Stacey achieved the clubs two first places in the Girls 14/over 50m breaststroke and 50m freestyle respectively.

Also swimming and gaining good experience and many personal best times were Jake France, Luke Stephens, Gavin Ball, James Anderson, Matt Edwards, Gareth Williams, Mike Best, Emily France, Emily Handel, Gemma Arundel, Laura Meredith, Jessamy Clemens, Maddie Handel and Emily Attfield.

The next day, James and Sophie Anderson, Chloe Marks and Kieran Rookes went to Exeter and gained ten personal bests between them. Kieran won three of the four events he entered, and came second in the other whilst James achieved a first in the 50m fly and five more top four finishes.

All the swimmers that competed over the weekend did really well and were a credit to the club.
